Recognizing Marty Shields for Years of Dedication to the Ronald McDonald House Charities

Our Chief Wealth Advisor, Marty Shields, CFP®, was recently honored at the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of the Capital Region annual dinner for his 9 years of board service with two of those as board chair.

Marty always appreciated their tag line “The House that Love Built” because it captured all the work the charity does for families overwhelmed by the health issues facing their children.

During his board tenure RMHC accomplished a great deal including.

• Building a great leadership team with Kimmy Venter as their new CEO
• The launch of Krantz Cottage at Lake George
• The start of the RMHC Comfort Car
• The start of the HOPE program
• The NICU Family Room at Albany Med to be open in the 4^th quarter of 2025.
• The establishment of the Trustco Bank Home Town House which provides meeting space, administrative offices, and space for several of our programs.

He and his family will still be involved cooking meals for the house and supporting their annual 5K Annual Fun Day
