In his role as Chief Wealth Advisor, Marty mentors the firm’s wealth managers and works with clients on their financial planning and investment management. He also leads the firm’s 401(k) / 403(b) service and serves on the Executive, Financial Planning, & Investment Committees of the firm. Marty has been with Bouchey Financial Group for more than 10 years and in total has more than 16 years of experience working with prominent fee-only wealth management firms. He also has 14 years of experience in senior management roles for several public telecom companies leading their financial planning and business analysis groups.
Marty earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from St. Bonaventure University and a Master of Economics from Virginia Tech. He also received an Executive Certificate in Financial Planning from Georgetown University and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. In 2016, he received his Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) designation.
Marty is President of the Board of the Capital Region Ronald McDonald House Charities. He has served on the Board of the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York and was the Co-Chair of their annual Chef and Vintner’s Harvest Dinner. He was also on the board of the Financial Planning Association of Central Virginia and the Tysons Corner Rotary Club.

“My family and I love to travel around the world and enjoy outdoor activities ranging from skiing and hiking to biking and sailing. I have three siblings and nine nieces and nephews, and twice a year we get the full Shields clan together to celebrate.”
