Martin X. Shields, CFP®, AIF®

Marty Shields joined Bouchey Financial Group in 2012 and is a valued member of the firm’s leadership team as well as a shareholder in the firm. As Chief Wealth Advisor, Marty mentors our team of wealth managers, sharing his deep expertise and helping them deliver exceptional guidance to clients while acting as their Personal Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He also works directly with individuals, families, and business owners to craft thoughtful, personalized financial plans and provide ongoing wealth management. In addition, Marty leads the firm’s 401(k) and 403(b) retirement plan services, helping businesses and their employees plan for a secure future.

Marty brings more than 20 years of experience with prominent fee only wealth management firms, complemented by 14 years in senior management roles within public telecom companies, where he led financial planning and business analysis groups. His extensive background gives him a unique perspective when helping clients navigate complex financial decisions.

Marty earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from St. Bonaventure University and a Master of Economics from Virginia Tech. He also holds an Executive Certificate in Financial Planning from Georgetown University and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. In 2016, he earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation, underscoring his commitment to acting in his clients’ best interests.

Dedicated to giving back, Marty currently served as President of the Board of the Capital Region Ronald McDonald House Charities. He has also served on the Board of the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York—co chairing their annual Chef & Vintner’s Harvest Dinner—as well as on the boards of the Financial Planning Association of Central Virginia and the Tysons Corner Rotary Club.
