Why Bouchey Financial Group is Committed to Giving Back, Especially During the Holidays

Tis the season to give back and I along with my team try our best to make a difference in the lives in our communities. I know firsthand there are many folks who find it hard to put food on the table, buy gas or pay their heating bills so I’ve been to Walmart a few times buying thousands worth of gift cards to hand out to those who I sense can use a helping hand.

This holiday season our organization was able to support some families in need in our local community through Commission on Economic Opportunity. Lauren Bouchey shopped and wrapped the weeks leading up to delivering our Christmas gifts to Kate Maciol and her dynamic team for numerous families. Their mission is “Changing lives, improving our community “, which is something I strongly support. Lauren and I dropped off our donations with smiles on our faces knowing even the little things can make a difference.

We cooked dinner for the amazingly beautiful children at Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region whose mission is “Helping families feel at home - even when they can’t be”. Ryan Bouchey, John Millet, Katie Buck, and Shelley Betor were able to volunteer.

I visited the Unity House of Troy, Inc. where I know how much good they do by providing food, clothes or Xmas gifts for so many. It brought me joy to see families come to pick up gifts for their kiddies and for me to surprise them with gift cards. Look at Denny smiling from ear to ear while others were shy and didn’t want pictures. I even helped deliver a couple bags of gifts to a single Mom with no car in South Troy.

Around this time of year, I often find my way back to where it began, Bldg 7 Apt 12 at the projects of Griswold Heights. My trips there keep me grounded, I never want to forget how I grew up and know firsthand how hard it is for so many. I truly believe that my wanting to give back as I do began with my humble beginnings.

Tomorrow is another day and we hope to continue making a difference wherever the opportunities arise.

Happy Holidays to all,

Steven Bouchey
