Bouchey Group of Companies volunteers with the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York
On Wednesday, October 22nd associates from Bouchey Financial Group, Ltd. and Bouchey & Clarke Benefits, Inc. volunteered their time at the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York.
The team at Bouchey companies thought it was important to give back to their community and the food bank was recommended as an option by Martin Shields, who is the COO of Bouchey Financial Group and is a current board member for the food bank. “We like to pride ourselves on giving to the community by supporting charitable organizations financially” said President, Steve Bouchey, “but we felt it was critical for our employees to do something hands on that would make a difference and impact those who need it most”.
The Regional Food Bank provides food assistance to over 1,000 charitable agencies serving hungry and disadvantaged people, including: Food Pantries, Soup Kitchens, Emergency Shelters, Youth Programs, Senior Programs and Programs for the Disabled.
Bouchey employees were responsible for sorting food donations based on criteria to decide whether or not the Regional Food Bank can keep a particular food product (good dents vs. bad, dents, rules around expiration dates, packaging, etc.) as well as the kind of food categories they pack into followed by sorting through non-perishable food donations.
