The Ronald McDonald House Charities
For the past 40 years, the Ronald McDonald House on S. Lake Ave, Albany has provided free housing and food for families with children who have life threatening medical conditions and are being treated at Albany Med or St. Peters. Three beautifully maintained, conjoining homes radiate a sense of safety and comfort with a large, family-style kitchen that provides the families with breakfast and dinner every night.
Last week, the team from Bouchey Financial Group volunteered to cook a nutritious, balanced meal of chicken, broccoli, rice, and a spring salad to share. A local volunteer gave a house tour explaining each room’s function and shared stories of how Ronald McDonald House makes a difference in the lives of the families they serve.
Now more than ever, the Ronald McDonald House Charities needs volunteers to help support families with childhood illness. Before the pandemic, the Ronald McDonald House would have volunteer dinners booked three months in advance. Unfortunately, volunteer numbers have suffered due to Covid-19 and there are often gaps within the month.
